Lord Arunachaleshwara Shiva Lingas On Arunachala.
There is some confusion among devotees to keep shiva linga at Home.
Everyone Can Keep a shiva Linga of thumb size at home,
as shown in the above picture, in their pooja.
They can offer their abhishekhams daily to lord shiva.

Thus___________________________.
Shri Kavyakanta Ganapathi Maha Muni identified Sri Ramana and his Infinite Power
and Surrendered to him and named Him
Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.
When Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi,
spent the first six months in Arunachaleshwara Temple,
Sri Seshadri Swami , warded of disturbances from boys.
The First Noteworthy event of his life occured in November,1895,
When he asked a relation where he had been.
The Reply " To Arunachala" had a magic effect on him.
then he read Periyapuranam and lots of spiritual books on lord shiva.
then within a short time he left home towards Arunachala
by writing this historical letter.
This is only embarking on a virtuous enterprise. Therefore, none need grieve over this affair.
To Trace this out, no money need be spent.
Your college fee has not yet been paid, Rupees two are enclosed herewith.""
The letter is left unsigned because no one was there to sign.
Sri Ramana Maharshi reached Arunachaleshwara Temple
on the Forenoon of September 1, 1896.
The Young Boy of Sixteen years,
With Quick steps and bouncing heart ,
All its gates and dooors were open, and strangely enough, not a soul was present.
Hence he could go without any hindrance into the innermost Shrine,
And reported his Arrival to Arunachala.
Sri Ramana went to an underground spot in temple,
The patala lingam, which few had the courage to enter.
How many days he spent there is not known; but when he was first noticed,
shocking was the scene.
He was lost in meditation ,
He was lost in meditation ,
but blood and pus from the lower limbs of the
body has discoloured the spot,
and the vermin that had accumulated found the unconscious
Brahmana Swami- that was how they called him.
Slowly number of piligrms had begun to visit him in the temple.
He Spent some time in various spots of the temple.
Some time at Sri Subramanya temple, some time at Vahana Mandapam,
and finally went to the Mangai Pillayar temple, where he had his
first constant attendant, Uddandi Nayinar, Who was attracted by the
hope of receiving the upadesa for realization.
The Flow of people had steadily increased and a number of
Piligrims had begun to visit him.
Then He moved to Gurumurtam, a Suburb, Where he has spent the
next eighteen months - most of the time in Samadhi.
At Gurumurtam, the identify of the swami first became known.
It happend in a curious way. The attendant, in his zeal once
arranged for an Abhishekam; but just before the time fixed for it, he found these lines
written in charcoal on the wall.
""This(food)alone is the service(needed) for this Body.""
This note revealed that the Swami was literate; and one aged visitor, the taluq
head accountant, utlised it to find out his identity.
So stubborn he was that he declined to move from the place, even if the stay
should involve his dismissal, unless the identity was revelaed.
and the Swami finally wrote down.
"""Venkataraman, Tiruchuzhi.'''""
""" Venkataraman is a revered saint at Tiruvannamalai. """
Nelliappier expressed his gratification that
The Swami made no response .
In spite of the changed appearance and dirt laden body,
This Discovery soon became Public and it reached the ears of his relatives
in Madurai .during a family gathering, a Youth blurted out that their
""" Venkataraman is a revered saint at Tiruvannamalai. """
In a few days, Nelliappier, the uncle of the Swami, was at Tiruvannamalai.
Swami has then taken his abode in a mango grove and visitors were strictly limited.
""So Nelliappier had to send a chit to secure admission; ""
and when he was allowed in , he had
a most unexpected sight, a dirt laden swami with matted hair and curly nails.
Nelliappier expressed his gratification that
one of his family had attained such a state,
but implored that he might come and live near them so that
his comforts at least might be attended to.
The Swami made no response .
The Skandha Ashram on Holy Arunachala.
Swami's Mother Alagammal and her eldest Son Nagaswamy
started for Tiruvannamalai and
found the Swami lying on a rock at Pavazhakundru.
In spite of the changed appearance and dirt laden body,
the mother at once recognised the child; but she too found her persuasions as ineffective as those of Nelliappier.
The Mother made a determined effort.
Day after day, the mother and elder brother visited the Swami
and tried to influence him in a variety of ways.
Appeals, unbraidings, even tears, had no effect.
Finally she decided to appeal to those around, who moved by her sorrow,
put in their own appeal, at least to give a reply ; and it was given on a piece of paper.

Finally she decided to appeal to those around, who moved by her sorrow,
put in their own appeal, at least to give a reply ; and it was given on a piece of paper.
No one knows the pattern of the behavior of the monkey in the picture.
The entire things are under the control of that Trueself.
The reply given to Mother on a piece of paper is :
""" The Ordainer Controls the fate of souls in accordance with
their past deeds - Their Prarabdha Karma.
Whatever is destined not to happen will not happen.
Whatever is destined to happen will happen,
do what you may to stop it.
This is Certain.
The Best course, therefore is for me to be silent."""
Bhagavan Sri Ramana's Resting Place at Skandasramam.
After message to his Mother, Swami lived on the hill, moving from One cave to another, as circumstances shaped. After living in the Mango tree Cave,
he went to the Virupaksha Cave.
Thousands of devotees visited Swami at various caves and
at his regular places on Arunachala.
and offered their respects and offered food items to all the people who are
staying and serving with the Swami.
There are so Many Women who dedicatedly took food for decades on daily basis,
thousands of People from across the globe surrendered
at the feet of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.
And this will continue as long as sun and moon rises over the Earth.
The Recent picture of the Holy Virupaksha Cave.
During the summer , however, the virupaksha Cave was too hot and uninhabitable,
so the swami moved on to the Mamara Guhai(Mango tree Cave)
situated near the Mulaipal Thirtham.
Divine necessity, composted Aksharamanamalai, A mystical poem of deep Significance,
Voicing forth at once the sweetness and potency of Divine love and Divine Grace.
It Was sung by his attendants whenever they went to the town to beg for food
for the small number of people that by now had attached themselves to him.

Then Swami began to attract the attention of also a few educated people,
And the notes they left us a glimpse of his life and teachings at the time.
Thus the contents of ""Vichara Sangraha"" are from the notes left by G.Seshier.
Little slips of paper on which the Swami had written replies to questions by visitors.
Another such book as Anugraha Ahaval, in which Sivaprakasam Pillai,
has left an account of his relations with the Swami ;
and the following passages from the same show how
the Swami's advice on self-realization had already taken definite shape.
You will know Your true self and thereby attain salvation."""

They take birth.,survive and vanish all happens within that True self.
But As humans the first thing what we have to do is to lead our life,
in search of that true self with self-inquiry as advised by Sri Ramana Maharshi.
Then only our existeance can be differentiated
whether it is a vegetable existanace or a human existance.
Bhagavan Sri Ramana great advise for self -inquiry is
""" The Mind Will Vanish only by pursuing the inquiry
"" Who Am I "
Though this inquiry is a mental operation only,
it destroys all mental operations including itself,
just as the the stick with which the funeral pyre is kindled is
itself reduced to ashes when the pyre and corpse are burnt.
Then we Attain knowledge or realization of the Self."""
All these girls read Akshara mani Mala and all other books.
Every sunday they will be learning more and more details about Sri ramana Maharshi.
The Infomation provided in this message is having some extracts from the book.
"Sri Maharshi A short life Sketch" which is very useful to children.
We are greatful to The Management of Sri Ramanasramam, Tiruvannamalai
for presenting the wonderful words of wisdom to all age group people.
We take this opportunity to offer our due respects to Management and Staff of
Sri Ramanasramam,Tiruvannamalai,

Sri Ramana Seva Ashram , Rachapalli.
There are millions of youth who are in search of peace in these stressfull
days of modern competitive world.
Majority are turning towards holy Devotional places.
Now there is an urgent need to take them from devotional path to
the spiritual path which gives them the purpose and meaning of life.
Know Yourself.
then You will guide the youth to
The Way of Selflessness - Sri Ramana's Way.
A small Cave, with NagaDevata's on Arunachala.
The Great important person to seek the grace of the Swami
was Kavyakanta Ganapati Sastri, whose advent proved evenful in a variety of ways.
Kavyakanta was, by then, well known as a poet and a scholor; and had been engaged in tapas for about a dozen years, but without any tangible results. In November, 1907 he was engaged in meditation at an outlaying mutt when he seemed to hear a call:
"God Wants You."
" Om Nama Shivayya Guha Temple." at Holy Arunachala.
Kavyakanta Ganapathi Sastri at once got up and went in the direction of the temple.
The procession was approaching; and he prostrated himself- but there was nothing to show why he had been called. He wandered about the streets until the next noon, when he recollected the presence of SWAMI on the Hill ; and went up at once in the hot sun.
Lord shiva and Goddess parvathi with Nandieshwara at
Om Namashivayya Guha Temple.
Luckily for him, the Swami was alone on the Verandah of the
Virupaksha cave; falling flat on his face he held the
Swami's feet with both hands, and appealed:
"" All that has to be read, I have read; even Vedanta Sastra I have fully understood .
I have performed japa to heart's content. Yet i have not understood what Tapas is.
Lord Nandieshwara always sits before the abode of lord Shiva.
Lord nandieshwara sits silently and ever ready in service of lord Shiva.
The Swami Gazed at him silently for about fifteen minutes and then breaking his
Maunam, his eleven Year's Silence, Said in Tamil:
"" If one watches whence this notion " I " springs, the mind is absorbed into that. That is tapas."""
""" When a mantra is repeated, if attention is directed to the source whence the Mantra sound is produced, the mind is absorbed in that. That is Tapas."""
Kavyakanta was fully satisfied with these instructions. and spent the afternoon at the cave. And on ascertaining the Swami's Name, he suggested to those present that
Ramana Maharshi was a proper appellation, and that the bhaktas should address him
as Bhagavan - both of which suggestions immediately came into Vogue.
The Old women from Sri Ramana Seva Ashram ,Rachapalli , andhra pradesh.
entering the Om Nama Shivaya Guha Temple.
Even more remarkable were the experiences of the lady known at the Ramanashram as Echammal. She Came there under the most poignant of circumstances. Having lost in quick succession , her husband and her two children.
Then She Heard of Sri Maharshi, and reaching Tiruvannamalai, went up the Hill. The maharshi was sitting in silence. She too stood quietly for an hour and said nothing.
The silent stay, however , produced a revolution in her feelings. She found herself transfixed to the spot. As the evening advanced, she somehow pulled herself away and retruning to her friend reported that by the grace of the Maharshi her sorrow had vanished.
Echammal took her abode permanently at Tiruvannamalai and for over thirty years, she had not taken her food before serving it to the Maharshi. She spent all her money in his service. For years, when the Maharshi was up the Hill, her home was a veritable Chatram (Guest house) for his Bhaktas.
She made consdierable spiritual advance and passed most of her time in meditation.
Now let us review our present status in society
and our role in it with our endless desires and
stress and strain of leading life in competitive world
of making wealth for our comforts.
With our selfishness we are setlling down at seperate dwelling places.
All the members of family drifting
away in different directions in search of
sastisfying their endless desires and comforts.
With our sense of that " I " we are forgetting about even our own people.
Now it is only My wife, My kids, My car and My Home and the
elders are neglected by finding some silly reasons.
Know Yourself.
Then you will re-establish the lost contacts with relations and friends.
then you will start sharing your wealth according to your capacity.
then you will know that the ultimate peace comes from within , not from out side,
only when your actions are done with love and concern.
Now after reading the secrets of Graceful guidance of Sri Ramana.
the path is clear now.
Now Progress in the path by leading life with total enthusiasm
by doing all good deeds in society, by spreading love and concern
to the people who come across you in the society.
Then You will easily know the meaning and purpose of life.
Then you will be acting in unison with that true self with your lost
sense of indviduality and selfishness.
Come to Ashram.
Join with the Ashram.
Assist the Ashram in its Humanitarian Projects.
Let all of us travel together
in
The Way of Selflessness - Sri Ramana's Way.
